What is it?  A program designed to introduce young women to the world of entrepreneurship. You’ll learn the ins and outs of running a business while working on your own startup idea. By the end of the program, you’ll pitch your idea in a mini-shark tank for prizes.

Tell me more!  The beginning of the program is all about discovering problems the people around you face, and brainstorming solutions to those problems. You’ll research areas that interest you, and then head out into the field to learn how to create products or services your customers would want to use! All along the way you’ll complete workshops focusing on different topics like customer research, marketing, financials, and product development. Mentors from Standard Chartered will help you develop your business plan. Plus, you’ll create a prototype of your solution.

So I’m actually creating a startup?  Pretty much. From the beginning, you’ll team up with other students in the bootcamp and focus on a problem that means something to you. You’ll take what you learn throughout the program & create a solution for that problem!

Details/Requirements/Deadlines:

1. The Bootcamp meets 9am-4pm, Monday-Thursday for six weeks (June 29th-August 6th)
2. Because it’s a short program, we do not allow for absences unless in the case of illness or familial/medical emergencies
3. It takes place on campus at the City College of New York (CCNY) in Harlem
4. This program is for high school girls and those who consistently identify as
5. The deadline to apply is April 20, 2020, but it’s a rolling admissions process. That means we’ll look at and accept applications as they come in. It’s best to apply early!
