Can my team members be from outside of City College?

As long as two team members are affiliated with City College, the remainder of your team can be from either within or outside the college.

Do you keep my idea secret?

We work with students that need legal protection for their idea, but we do require a general description of the idea.

If I graduated from City College and am no longer a student can I still apply?

As long as you have a current student, faculty or staff member on your team, you may apply. One member of the team must have an active affiliation with the college. And a minimum of two members from each team must have some affiliation with the school to be admitted into the incubator. Outside startups can still apply to the co-working space or request quotes for prototyping.

Can I operate the 3-D Zahn Center equipment on my own?

Only members of the incubator can operate Zahn Center equipment on their own, once they complete a rigorous certification process for each piece of equipment. All other prototyping requests must be completed by Zahn Center staff.

Can I use the equipment without being part of a startup?

You can request a quote for prototyping services. Our staff engineer will help fulfill requests from students, faculty, staff and non-affiliated companies. Our rates are highly competitive, though vary depending on your status with the college.
