Le Sel Foundation is a multi-faceted social enterprise whose main concern it is to combat Iodine Deficiency Disorder (IDD) in Haiti by incorporating iodized salt into the Haitian diet. Not only will Le Sel Foundation produce and manufacture affordable, clean, iodized salt at an eco-park in the Anse-Rouge region of Haiti, but it will develop an educational initiative to teach the rural Haitian population about the dangers of IDD. Carry Fils-Aime, Le Sel’s founder and a native Haitian, has traveled to Anse-Rouge several times in the past year to spread awareness about IDD and hold pop-up medical clinics for people suffering from its effects.
