VERIPAD is a technology for low and middle income countries that authenticates medications. The tool combines the technology of a Paper Analytical Device (PAD) with a convenient app so that anyone with a smartphone can test medications. The core team–Bishoy Ghobryal, Da Wi Shin, and Y-Lan Nguyen–along with about twenty student interns will tackle the counterfeit drug crisis across the globe, starting in Kenya. By setting up crucial partners, VERIPAD will launch this life-saving product in the coming months.
