Job Description:
The staff at the Zahn Innovation Center are motivated individuals who are dedicated to ensuring our entrepreneurs and startup companies succeed. We are currently looking for a talented individual with strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and an entrepreneurial attitude, to join our team as the key coordinator in developing a new program to help students gain valuable internship experience with leading tech companies and innovative social enterprises. Reporting to the Executive Director of the Zahn Center, the Pathway Coordinator will create transformational experiential opportunities for CCNY students, through relationships with various partners at corporations, nonprofits and government agencies in and around NYC.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall design of a campus-wide internship placement program including: the application and selection process, campus marketing, disbursement of funds and oversight of the student experience
- Identify, cultivate and maintain relationships with host organizations including corporations, leading nonprofits/social enterprises, and government agencies
- Collaborate with faculty and appropriate college office across campus to mentor and assess student experience
- Manage internal internship opportunities for startup teams at the Zahn Center to provide stipends to students to spend summers advancing their own startups
Requirements:
- Must be a connector with the imagination and persistence to build strategic relationships with a wide array of stakeholders
- Superior relationship management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prior professional experience in a related position (3-5 years, minimum)
- Bachelor’s degree
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in donor relations, HR or recruitment for a notable organization
- Proven interest in entrepreneurship and/or social innovation
- Proven commitment to advancing opportunities for youth
