What is Rapid Prototyping?

Rapid Prototyping is often used to produce a physical sample of a design concept. It can be used to evaluate form, fit and function and to test out new and innovative ideas.
Prototypes are often made of less robust, and therefore less expensive, materials. And “rapid” is critical to many of our clients because they need to produce a physical part quickly in order to validate a design or to capture a fleeting sales opportunity.

CNC MACHINING

Our CNC lathes enable high speed and high quality turning of both plastics and metals. The turning process allows for complex external geometries and internal bores to be generated.  Our turning capacity is available for one-offs through to batch production of your components.
Our CNC milling machine facility can manutfacture the most simple to the most complex wood, metal, or plastic part.
Our general tolerances for CNC machining of metals is DIN-2768-1-fine and for plastics DIN-2768-1-medium. Tolerances are greatly affected by part geometry and type of material. Our project managers will consult with you on every part of your project and will seek to provide the highest degree of precision possible.

3D PRINTING

We provide high quality 3D printed parts utilizing the best additive manufacturing technologies available. We produce highly detailed plastic parts for end use products and functional prototypes. If you’re in need of something quickly, we can rapidly create prototypes in high detail resin and photopolymers. These rapidly-produced prototypes are perfect for anything from medical use all the way to engineering samples and show models. Our extensive engineering and product design experience will ensure the best options for your prototyping and low volume production needs.

LASER CUTTING

Lasers are just so versatile! It is fantastic what can be done with clever design, good material selection, highly trained laser operators and the best in laser machinery. Our laser cutting production facility enables us to offer fabrication and finishing services, so we can now assist with even more of your project, from creation to completion! All client work is professionally produced on one of our industry leading lasers. With a minimum order quantity of only $99 we can offer one offs or prototypes, as well as full production services. Provide us vector drawings and details of materials and quantities required and we will quote accurately for your project. Our drawing resources explain what drawings are required for laser work and how to prepare them, including free software downloads. If you get stuck, let us know, or we can quote for preparing your drawings. Standard turnaround is 2-3 working days, but we are often booked a week in advance. CIRCUIT BOARD PRINTING

Our advanced circuit board prototyping facility utilizes the latest technology in circuit board printers to prototype short runs of extremely high end boards.
Zahn Innovation Center prototyping service gives you complete control over your order. Our online PCB prototype shop can turn even the most complicated designs into working prototypes quickly and with minimal fuss.
