Job Description:
The staff at the Zahn Innovation Center is composed of motivated individuals who are dedicated to ensuring our entrepreneurs and startup companies succeed. We are currently looking for a talented individual with strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and an entrepreneurial attitude, to join our team as the key coordinator in developing a new program to engage more women in entrepreneurship at CCNY. This new effort will be multi-faceted, including an annual $30K competition, a speaker series, a semester-long course, a startup bootcamp, and a mentorship program. This individual will be the primary liaison with the corporate donor for the initiative and while reporting to the Executive Director of the Zahn Center, the Coordinator will work closely with both the donor and other partners.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall design of an annual Women & Entrepreneurship competition on campus including: the application process, campus marketing, recruitment of judges, deliberation oversight, event management and award distribution
- Collaborate with advisors and donors to identify and recruit speakers for an ongoing speaker series; manage campus marketing and event management both at CCNY and off-campus, as well as administer program follow up
- Liaise with CCNY faculty members on the design of a Women in Entrepreneurship class
- Work with Zahn Director and faculty on program design and execution for a Lean Startup Bootcamp
- Manage mentor engagement; facilitate mentorship network programming
- Oversee program marketing strategy and execution: work with partners on developing marketing materials; spearhead promotions, classroom outreach, CCNY publications and social marketing outreach to ensure maximum participation at all events; work with other partners on broader PR strategy
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Prior experience in a related position (3-5 years preferred).
- Proactive and resourceful with superior problem solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to acquire technical knowledge relating to entrepreneurship.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in engineering or other technical field.
- Experience with programming and/or physical prototyping.
- Proven interest in entrepreneurship.
- Proven commitment to advancing opportunities for women
