Haytham Elhawary, Ph.D., Executive Director

Haytham is both an engineer and an entrepreneur. His professional experience includes research in medical robotics at both Philips Electronics and Harvard Medical School. He co-founded Hibergenica, a  start-up venture looking to commercialize a novel organ transplantation technology, and he performed due diligence on several medtech deals for BioEquity Capital, a secondary investment firm. He is the founder of the NY hardware startup meetup  and runs the NY chapter of the Startup Leadership Program, a non-profit organization which trains talented entrepreneurs. Haytham has a PhD from Imperial College London and a Mechanical Engineering degree from University of Navarra in Spain. He also reviews theater for the blog site Theatre is Easy and loves to do improvised comedy, although admittedly he's not very good.

Lindsay Siegel, Managing Director of Social Entrepreneurship

Lindsay is passionate about progressive social change and the organizations that effectively and efficiently disrupt the status quo. She is an entrepreneurial program strategist with more than a decade of professional experience across sectors. She most recently worked in sustainable development at Columbia University’s Earth Institute. Earlier in her career she ran an ecolodge in rural Ecuador, advised digital strategy for Acumen Fund, and developed membership programming for the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy, among other adventures. Lindsay has an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a BS from Northwestern University. Though always itching to travel, she is happily grounded in New York with her husband and two little boys.

Arthur J. Autz, Lead Engineer

Arthur holds a B.S. from Penn State in Engineering Science and Mechanics and a M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University. He has worked in design and fabrication as part of Columbia's BME Machine Shop, conducted research in medical devices with Medtronic, traveled subway tunnels as a mechanical engineer with the New York City Transit, and performed design work for TU Wien's Institute for Production Engineering in Vienna. He is an artist as well as an engineer, and participates in art and outreach events as part of a group called The WorkShop Collective.

Elizabeth Vilchis, Office Manager

Elizabeth holds a B.E. from the City college of New York in Mechanical Engineering. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Mechanical Engineering at City College with a focus on materials engineering. Her research interest is in composite materials and she is currently working on a project for the Tank Automotive Research Development Engineering Center (TARDEC). In previous years she worked for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST), organizing regional robotics tournaments for students ages 9-14. She also worked with City Technology, a National Science Foundation funded program that helps teachers develop hands on activities to teach technology and engineering to kids at the elementary school level. She has also previously held leadership positions in local chapters of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and continues to be active in these organizations.
